Meet the team: Emma Lawrie – Technical Officer

In the first of our ‘Meet the Team’ interviews for 2026 we spoke to our Technical Officer, Emma Lawrie, who has been with the Kingfisher team now for 3 ½ months.

How long have you worked for Kingfisher? 3 and a half months

What is your role in the Kingfisher team? Talk us through a typical day? I support the Sales Team / factory with technical queries and produce manufacture packs/cutting lists.

What do you enjoy about your role? No day is the same.

What is your favourite film and why? That’s a tough one, there’s 3 Classics! Dirty Dancing – no explanation needed! Jaws – scared me to death when I was a kid playing with my Barbies to look up at the TV and see Jaws, I’ve been fascinated ever since & The Goonies, who doesn’t want to search for pirate treasure

I can’t get through the week without … Coffee!

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Either an Archaeologist or Egyptologist (I always wanted to be the next Howard Carter, just not the curse and dying part 😂) or a Detective/Crime Scene Investigator.

Who would your ideal dinner party guests be (Dead or alive)? Howard Carter, Captain Edward Smith, David Attenborough & Cliff Lansley (AKA the Watcher).

What TV show are you currently binge-watching? Stranger Things.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? Morning person, as long as there is coffee!

Have you ever met anyone famous? I’ve met Princess Diana.

Staycation or exotic holiday? I will take any holiday going! 😂 I love an exotic holiday but I also love a staycation in Cornwall with my dogs.

Favourite food? Mexican or Italian.

Favourite drink? Red wine or Miami Vice.

What three things would you take to a desert island and why? Bikini, spray oil & cocktails, I won’t last long but at least I’ll have fun and a tan! 😂
